| Why Chiropractic Became Personal

Dr. Kandy’s interest in chiropractic began with her own experience.

During her senior year of high school, she began experiencing headaches that eventually became an everyday problem. Every few days, they would become severe enough to make her sick, and traditional medical care wasn’t providing lasting relief.

A friend suggested she visit a chiropractor. During that first evaluation, X-rays revealed changes in the curve of her neck. When asked about previous accidents or injuries, Dr. Kandy remembered being rear-ended in a car accident during her junior year of high school. At the time, she and her friend had not sought medical care following the accident.

After her first chiropractic adjustment, she experienced relief from her headache for the first time in a long time. That experience ultimately changed the direction of her life and inspired her to pursue a career in chiropractic.

More than 25 years later, helping patients who struggle with headaches remains one of her favorite parts of practice.

| What She Loves About Being a Chiropractor

One of the things Dr. Kandy enjoys most about chiropractic is that no two patients are exactly alike.

Some patients come in with a new injury or problem, while others have been dealing with pain or discomfort for years and may have already tried several different approaches.

Dr. Kandy enjoys taking the time to listen, evaluate what is happening, and determine what may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms rather than assuming everyone needs the same type of care.

After decades in practice, she especially values the relationships she has developed with her patients. Many have become like family over the years.

| Life Outside the Office

When she isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Kandy enjoys spending time with family and friends.

She loves traveling, sitting around a campfire, trying different restaurants, and listening to a wide variety of music and live bands.

She is also an enthusiastic sports fan and has especially enjoyed watching her daughter play volleyball and softball over the years.

When baseball season arrives, there is no question where her loyalty lies — Dr. Kandy is a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
